Instead of an allen wrench. You could've accomplished the same thing with a roll pin. Buy an assortment at Harbor Freight. Plus a roll pin way easier to cut thru then an allen.

I did a 9 volt .2 amps. It works great but is faster than it ever was. Lid goes up fast and down fast. Have to throw your trash in quickly. I tried a 5amp transformer and The lid goes up slower and not quite all the way. Still trying to find a sweet spot. Has anyone else had this happen?

The reason some increase to 14 even 15 volts is probably because they are into radio cb or ham or both they operate radios that is at 13.8 volts .and te amplifiers take a bit higher voltage to produce higher watts wattage output. Just to help understand why the higher voltage mods.

Thank you for the informative video. I have a doubt. Will a CW nut on a CCW motor make it a CW oriented thread that tightens when propeller goes CW? Or is it the thread on the shaft that makes it a CCW motor? Basically, I was thinking if it is the thread orientation on the nut that makes a CW or CCW motor? Please do share your thoughts.

Just ran a 'maiden', powering 4 chargers at once, each with a 5000mah battery attached and it didn't miss a beat. Like you say, much easier than converting a PC unit (which I did many years ago but it died a couple of weeks ago). I'm going to get another as a benchtop supply/spare.
